Standard condition ratings and what they really mean
Brand new, unworn item with original retail tags still attached. This is the highest condition for clothing—essentially store-shelf quality.
Brand new, unworn item but original tags have been removed. Item has never been worn or washed—just lost its tags.
Worn but shows minimal signs of use. Looks nearly new with no significant flaws. This is the best condition for pre-owned items.
Shows normal wear but is still in good, wearable condition. May have minor flaws that don't affect overall appearance significantly.
Shows noticeable wear and has visible flaws. Still functional and wearable but best for casual use or as beater items.
Always photograph and describe any flaws. Buyers appreciate honesty, and it protects you from returns. When in doubt, grade conservatively—it's better to under-promise and over-deliver.
Brand new, never worn, with original box and all accessories. Factory lacing intact. The gold standard for sneaker reselling.
Worn once or twice, shows almost no signs of wear. Looks new to the untrained eye. May have been tried on indoors only.
Worn a few times but still in excellent condition. Minor creasing, no sole wear. Could pass as new to casual observers.

Perfect condition. No visible flaws under 10x magnification. Sharp corners, perfect centering, pristine surfaces. The holy grail for card collectors.
Near perfect with very minor flaws only visible under magnification. Excellent centering, sharp corners, clean surfaces.
Very minor wear visible to naked eye. Slight corner wear, minor centering issues, or light surface imperfections.
Graded cards (slabbed by PSA, BGS, CGC) command premium prices but cost $20-150+ to grade. Grade high-value cards where the premium justifies the cost. Sell raw for lower-value cards.
